Victoria Ormiston
Director of Equity

Hello Delegates! I’m Kenneth Clarence, a second-year student in Dawson’s Law, Society, and Justice profile. My days are filled with various responsibilities, including serving as President of the Dawson Student Union, discussing regional issues as Montreal’s Local Youth Ambassador, and collaborating with local organizations as a member of the CDN-NDG Youth Council. These experiences have prepared me well for my position as your Director of Equity. I am committed to ensuring that each of you feels welcome, safe, and supported throughout the conference. I can’t wait to meet you all!

Hi, my name is Victoria and I am a 2nd year student in the Social Change & Solidarity program. My interests vary from politics, social justice issues to journalism and dance. Aside from Model UN, I am VP Academics & Advocacy for the Dawson Student Union, which I believe will aid me in fulfilling my duties as Director of Equity. I am excited to see you all soon at the conference, and hope your experience is as fair as possible.

Shannan Aktas
Event Coordinator

Hello everyone! My name is Shannan Aktas, and I am a third year Liberal Arts student here at Dawson College where my main focus is history, philosophy, and humanities (no, there is no drawing involved and yes, I have been asked that question before). I joined MUN in my second year of Cegep, and it was probably the best choice I’ve made. If I had to choose one aspect of MUN that I absolutely adore, it would have to be the networking part of it; I love meeting new people to talk to! But, I know as well as anyone how tiring it is after a day full of committee sessions. Luckily, I’m your event coordinator for this DCMUN conference. Thanks to my program, I’m fully prepared to show all our delegates how to party like the Romans! Well…not exactly like the Romans, BUT I’ll help you unwind with great music, laughs, and food. I hope you enjoy the social event me and my colleague have arranged for you. Good luck to everybody coming to this conference, and I hope you guys have a great time!

Hi!, I’m Alexandra, and I have the honour of being your USG for the General Assembly at DCMUN’s first conference back! With a passion for diplomacy and meaningful discussions on global issues, I’m excited to see the debate and conversations our GAs will hold. As I’ve participated and won in multiple GAs, I’m excited to see what delegates will be bringing to the dialogue. I could not be prouder of our General Assemblies this year, our chairs’ creativity will inspire a wonderful debate for all delegates. Looking forward to creating an amazing conference with you all!

Hi, my name is Toka, and I'm very excited to be your assistant business and event planner for this year's conference ! I'm a second-year psychology student, and this is my first year on the DCMUN team. I love cats, poetry, painting, and all things art. I also spend a lot of time volunteering at Dawson, particularly with the student union. As assistant planner, I'll be helping organize the events at the conference such as our amazing speaker and the wonderful social events we have planned. The DCMUN conference is shaping up to be a great time and I can't wait for all of you to participate !

Hi all! My name is Wilhelm Pamba, and I am a second year student in the Law, Society & Justice program. What I mostly enjoy is music, basketball, and Model United Nations. If you don’t see me on court, or listening to the new Magdalena Bay album, I will very probably be doing something related to MUN. My love for that activity came from my passions for geography and international affairs. I enjoy learning about issues related to the world, and I am always open to gaining more knowledge! Additionally, with MUN, I have learned to ameliorate my diplomacy-related skills. Indeed, Model United Nations made me feel more comfortable with what concerns speaking, writing, and debating in front of an audience. My goal, as a secretary-general, is to transmit that comfort and enjoyment to you at the conference. I invite you to jump in the world of Model United Nations by living the DCMUN experience at its fullest. I truly can not wait to meet you all at the conference!

Best wishes, Wilhelm

Hi everyone! I'm Letitia and I have the pleasure to serve as your USG of Specialized Agency and Crisis. I am currently in my second year at Dawson studying in Law, Society and Justice. I joined DCMUN last year and I have had no regret about that decision since then. I love debating in fast paced committees like in a crisis, having to fix urgent situations based on previously acquired knowledge or in less dramatic settings yet still very fun specialized agencies discussing more serious topics. MUN is truly a wonderful experience that helped me develop my public speaking skills along with my quick thinking  and I am inpatient to have you come in large number to the first edition of our DCMUN conference!
